You are so right, I am a platform-only girl…even when sightseeing. However, I have a few stylish yet comfortable ideas in mind for your upcoming vacay.

I might sound crazy but I promise you that both a low wedge and heel sandal—like Deena & Ozzy’s Colorblock Wedge— are two very comfortable options! Hi there! LOVE a June wedding—so fun!

First of all, if the daytime wedding is outdoors, a wedge is a MUST! Trust me, you do not want to worry about your heels sinking into the grass all afternoon. Aim for a pair with a summery chic vibe—aka no black. I suggest going for neutral options: lace-up, wooden, or nude cork wedges are all ideal because you can rock them post-wedding and all season long. However, if the wedding event is indoors, opt for a tan pump, neutral platform or strappy metallic sandal instead—three options that will go with anything.

Now onto the dress…the most important part! For an afternoon soirée, I’d wear a solid silk maxi, floral feminine silhouette or a printed one-shoulder. Keep in mind that white is always a no-no, so aim for tones that are colorful and warm. Once you’ve landed on the perfect frock, just add some excessories—i.e. a gold necklace, cocktail ring and subtle earrings—and a classic clutch. Voila, you are wedding ready! Before we get to the fashion, let me start with saying congrats! Not only will your internship be a great learning experience, but also the absolute best way to decide your future career path! For me, interning was priceless. I was given the opportunity to figure out which aspect of the fashion industry most suited me…and well, the rest is history…

In terms of dressing the part, it really depends on what field you will be working in—i.e. an intern position at a law firm versus one at a fashion closet do not quite have the same wardrobe requirements! If you are going to be assisting in a creative setting, such as a fashion house, magazine, ad agency or anything artistic, I say do not be afraid to express your personal style (to an extent). However, if you are going to be spending the summer in a law office, go for more of a “professional chic” look.

Always aim for something simple yet stylish! For the bottom, a pair of jeans (wide leg or skinny), tailored trousers or a feminine skirt will work. Match your top accordingly with an appropriate blouse, button down or t-shirt/blazer combo! As far as excessories go, don’t be afraid to add a pop of color or a bold statement piece—instant glam! A fashion-forward wedge or classic flat are the most comfortable footwear picks—especially if you will be running around all day! Lastly…you can’t forget a laptop case! After all, a working girl needs to be prepared!

For Monday’s CFDA Award’s, I decided on a bright magenta lip—NARS’ Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Damned”—to be exact. This pencil, which glides on just as smooth as lipstick, is one of my current favorite beauty picks. It is extremely long lasting—the color stayed true all night—from the awards to the dance floor! Plus, the oversized crayon is perfect for on-the-go—fun and fabulous!

In general, a bright lip is big this season…adding glamour to any ensemble in an instant! With that said, the time has come to mix up your own cosmetic collection with berry, magenta and bright red lip colors. Spring and summer are synonymous with stylish chapeaus! Not only are hats fabulous add-ons to your seasonal attire, but they’re also crucial for protecting your face (and hair) from the sun! With that said, I rarely hit the Hamptons heat without one essential excessory! This season, my three favorite hat styles are:

Oversized Sun Hat: As usual, I say the bigger the better! Brette Sandler’s Raffia Sunhat is perfectly sized, plus I just LOVE the kaleidoscope-printed band—so versatile and chic. Gap’s Floppy Hat is also a great option if you are looking for something a little darker-toned. If you plan on spending hours in the sun, this is the best pick…instant shade!
Straw Fedora: A cool fedora can be worn both day and night, whether you are on the beach or at a dinner party. As a devotee of all Eugenia Kim designs, I fell head-over-heels in love with her latest creation—the Max Fedora (with leopard trim)—obvi. Pair it with a Floral Maxi Dress, a hammered cuff and gold sandals to complete your spring to summer- appropriate look!
Headscarf: Aside from sun-shielding hats, headscarves also top my list of must-have headwear! Take inspiration from Marni’s S/S runway and opt for Topshop’s Painted Flower Headband or Free People’s Paisley Scarf—totally glamorous right? xoRZ

When I’m on-the-go (which is more often than not!), I make it a point to keep my in-flight attire stylish, yet comfy! Comfort is KEY…especially if you have hours and hours of travel time ahead of you. With that said, I rarely mix up my jet setting outfit!

If you have a long flight—or road trip—coming up, a chunky knit, jersey leggings, wedge booties, oversized tee and carry-on-ready accessories will create a totally travel-appropriate look! As far as fashionable necessities needed once you’ve reached your destination, check out my latest guide, Jet Set Summer: 20 Stylish Savvy Suggestions!

If you’re looking for a big, soft sweater, All Saints’ Tapio Long Wrap Cardigan is a great pick! It is not only soft, but also easy to take on and off…extra bonus points. This season, I am also big on capes! My QVC Double Belted Cape is a chic outerwear option…also wearable out on the town if your plane touches down a little late! As for underneath, an oversized tee will work under either outerwear option…try Nation LTD’s Ex-Boyfriend Tee, it is one of my faves!

On the bottom, I suggest a simple pair of leggings, like these from Splendid. I always wear mine en-route…there is NOTHING more comfortable! Accessorize with ankle booties—preferably in a wedge style, obvi—such as Jeffrey Campbell’s Tick Wedges. They are over-the-top comfy! A printed scarf is also a travel essential! Pick one bag?! …that’s a serious fashion challenge! However, if I had to decide on a single preferred style for the season, it would have to be a large hobo. Preferably in a soft brown leather or neutral tone. Derek Lam’s Nadia Bag is one of my go-to bags at the moment. With its classic shape and exquisite detailing, it is the perfect arm candy for a night out. I am also a huge fan of woven bags right now, à la Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs and Versace. They are spring-summer appropriate and can most definitely be paired with your seasonal attire.

With that said, if you are going to invest in one handbag this season, I am in full support of anything inspired by the previously mentioned. Nine West’s Melinda Hobo is a great Parallel Universe option…and it is large enough to carry all your purse essentials! Also, this Netted Bucket Bag from Kimchi is amahzing. Both are under $100 and ideal for long days at the beach or summer excursions. Just toss one over your shoulder and go! xoRZ

I must start by saying congrats—your accomplishment in itself is extremely chic! Regarding your cap and gown, not to worry, even though they may be a little on the snoozy side (mine was too!), you can make up for it with your chosen apparel!

I would definitely suggest wearing a dress on your special day. I think it is hands-down the most fabulous route to take. Here are a few styles I think will work best:

Neutral – A nude frock is a sophisticated choice, considering neural tones are on-trend this season. Go with something a little more casual—yet still flattering—like Banana Republic’s Silk Blend Strapless Dress. It is playful and totally afternoon appropriate! On the footwear front, I say pick a nude pump to match…there is nothing more chic than a totally monochromatic ensemble.
Print – Prints are huge for spring! Right now, I am loving feminine prints—Parker’s Cami Dress has just the right amount of flirt!—and abstract tribal patterns, like Givenchy’s spring runway! I say, if you are brave enough to rock a funky print—French Connection’s One Shoulder Dress is ba-na-as!—go for it! There’s no better way to stand out in a crowd. Pair your printed dress of choice with a tan wedge to up the wow factor!
Bright Solid – Lastly, if a print is too bold, and a neutral just isn’t your thing…opt for something that’s one hue, yet still eye-catching! My favorite colors as of late? Yellow, orange and turquoise! Rebecca Taylor’s Pin Dot Runway Dress is a great tangerine-toned pick, as is this sunshine-colored mini! After all, it is spring…the season to sport color! For this outfit, a strappy sandal will work well. Oh, and as always…don’t forget to excessorize!

Regarding what to wear in a casual office setting, I would urge you to still dress your best! Laid-back or not, it is important to keep your look professional and fashion-forward. With that said, opt for for a sleek pair of dark jeans, like 7 For All Mankind’s Ginger Wide Leg as the foundation of your look. They are ultra-chic, yet still comfortable—I live in mine! Pair them with a spring-perfect wedge to add a bit of height, and ta da, your bottom half is covered.

Finishing your outfit is just as simple. If I am heading to a business meeting, I tend to rely on a pretty white blouse or other straightforward top to look and feel chic. This is a versatile route that gives one room to incorporate a cool lightweight jacket (bonus points if it has color!) and fun excessories.

Speaking of excessories…whenever you are in heading into an office environment, I suggest aiming for fashionably functional add-ons, like a stylish belt, oversized watch and a laptop bag. Now, follow all of the above steps carefully and I guarantee you will totally shut it down from behind your desk. xoRZ
